For every building — and event — on campus, there’s most likely the need for locker rentals. Here are just a few of the many applications we’ve seen:
Urban Campuses
Give students a place to store their backpacks, bags, and computers when they head away from campus for meals and recreation
Liberal Arts Schools
Create a way for students to leave their belongings near their major-specific classes when they need to trek across campus for their general studies courses
School of Business
Offer a home away from home for business and marketing students who might need to change into more professional clothes for a presentation or class
Arts, Theater & Music
Allow students to store their art portfolios, musical instruments and sheet music, and costume or set design pieces
Fitness Center
Open cubbies at a fitness center are only so secure — they’re not secure at all. Create a safe way to store clothes, jewelry, and other belongings during workouts
Student Unions
Make it possible for students to stash their bags, coats, and computers while they’re catching up with their friends or eating a quick dinner before heading home
Libraries
Make studying with friends or doing research a little easier — and safer — by giving students a place to store their bags and coats
Intramural Athletics
Rental lockers make it easy for students to store gear and equipment for evening and weekend games
Cultural Events
Concerts, plays, art exhibits, lectures, and more — lockers offer a way to stash belongings and phones in tech-free zones
Sporting Events
Not everyone is aware of the carry-in rules of your stadium or fieldhouse. Having rentable lockers nearby makes it easy for guests to stash belongings
There are plenty of specialized instances in which locker rentals make perfect sense. Do any of these situations sound familiar?
Booster Club Storage
One of our partners is a university that hosts various alumni and booster clubs on football game days. They open up an entire building for public access prior to the game — and the college uses locker rentals to make sure the club volunteers and participants have a place to store their stuff that’s both out of the way and safe.
Another school had a combination of full-time and part-time MBA students. Both types of students were in need of lockers — to store professional clothes they could change into for interviews or meetings with corporate representatives, and to stash backpacks and their business bags so they weren’t carrying a bunch of stuff into their classrooms.

Speaker & Panel Discussions
Although many speaker series, panel discussions, and conferences have moved online in the present, a university partner had regular lectures that brought in speakers from around the country. They designated their auditorium as a tech-free zone to eliminate photos and recordings. Students were able to store their phones in lockers, and retrieved them with their student ID when the event was over.
Another school partner hosted several on-campus music and theater events that were attended by students as well as the general public. To eliminate noise and distraction for the performers and create comfort for patrons, the school offered rental lockers in lieu of a coat check, and found that many appreciated being able to check a bag or coat.

Clear plastic bag policies, only small clutch bags, no outside food or drinks — we all know the feeling when you realize you have that one item that isn’t allowed into the event. Whether or not these are your policies, it’s beneficial to have the opportunity to securely store those items that you can’t or don’t want to bring into the event. With Rent Your Locker you can charge alumni, students and visitors for locker use on game day weekends or other special events.
